All programs will be held at: Cortlandt Youth & Recreation Center, 3 Memorial Drive, Croton

SWEET & SAVORY TREATS WORKSHOP (Entering Grades 6th – 12th in the fall)
Join Mrs. G in the kitchen to learn how to make some sweet and savory treats perfect for summer! Participants will be hands on in the kitchen, learning life skills, and will take home a recipe booklet to recreate these tasty treats all summer.

Youth CPR and First Aid Certification (Ages 11 – 15)
WML Aquatics, Instructor
Youth will be trained in adult, child, and infant CPR as well as in First Aid.  All participants will receive American Red Cross Certificates.

American Red Cross Babysitting, CPR & First Aid course (Ages 11 -15)
WML Aquatics, Instructor
Youth will become fully trained and equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This full day course will cover topics including but not limited to: Pediatric CPR, First Aid, making decisions under pressure, communicating with parents to learn household rules, recognizing safety and hygiene issues, managing young children, confidently feed, diaper and caring for infants. All participants will receive an American Red Cross Babysitting, CPR & First Aid Certification. Please bring a baby-sized doll and a lunch.

“SKETCH-2-MASTERPIECE” DRAWING COMPETITION
(Entering Grades 6th – 12th in the fall)
Like to sketch? Do you doodle often and everyone tells you how good you are? Would you like to challenge yourself with other artists? Then sign-up for this creative competition! There will be two rounds, you can participate in one or both. Round 1: “Speed Sketch” 20 minutes. Round 2: “Masterpiece” 1 hour 30 minutes. In each round you can choose from the following categories: Realistic, Cartoon or Pattern. All work will be done on paper in regular pencil (materials provided). Drawing supplies will be awarded as prizes to the top winners in each round.

MONDAY NIGHT FLAG FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
(Entering Grades 6th – 12th in the fall)
Youth are invited to register for a friendly eight-week grid iron tournament with a Monday night football experience. Teams will be decided after registration and prior to play. All participating youth will receive a YC Flag Football T-shirt and winning team will receive a prize.

SUMMER NITES SOCCER
(Entering Grades 6th – 12th in the fall)
Youth are invited to register for a fleet-footed fun eight-week tournament with a local World Cup feel, at the YC. Teams will be decided after registration and prior to play. All participating youth will receive a YC Soccer T-shirt and winning team will receive a prize.

YOUNG REMBRANDTS ART CAMP (Entering Grades 1st – 6th in the fall)
Session I: African Safari/APPS & Video Games Drawing Workshop
A full day camp with two fun and exciting topics every day! Join us on a Safari Adventure where we will explore the exciting land and many animals that inhabit Africa.  In five days, we will draw a variety of animals in various scenes with different media.  After lunch we’ll switch gears and mimic the amazing imagery of our favorite apps and video games inspired by pixel block characters, plants, zombies and more! Session II: Underwater Explorers & Rock Out Drawing Workshop
A full day camp with two fun and exciting topics every day! Underwater exploration comes to life in this 5-day cartoon workshop. Follow our four cartoon characters as they explore the deep blue sea. Cartooning techniques like expression, sequencing and scenic development are just a few of the hilarious lessons learned all workshop long. After lunch we’ll switch gears and Rock Out, for every child who dreams of partying like a rock star! It’s five days of artistic, rock and roll imagery. Click here view examples of artwork.

DRONE RACING AT THE YC (Entering Grades 6th – 12th in the fall)
Come and demonstrate your indoor aerial skills with an obstacle course designed by your YC peers. There will be one course for speed and another for dual racing! Drones will be provided; youth may not bring their own to the race. Participants get to keep their brand new drone!

PRINCESS CAMP (Ages 4 – 7)
Hear Ye! Hear Ye! By order of the Town of Cortlandt all Princesses are invited to join The Royal Court! Each day your little one will assume their role as princesses as they move through crafts, games, stories and songs that focus on being kind, caring, respectful, responsible, strong and brave. A daily message from our Queen will guide each day’s theme as the princesses create their own persona and costume. Family and friends are invited on the final day as each princes is presented at The Royal Court. Participants should bring a snack and wear comfortable shoes or sneakers appropriate for outdoor play.

UNCOVER, DISCOVER, CREATE! (Entering Grades 7th – 9th in the fall)
Home for the summer and looking for a unique experience to expand upon your personal development and growth? Then this course is for you! Through a variety of self-discovery activities, team building challenges and important life topic discussions you will enhance your leadership, communication and self-empowerment skills. The course is four hours Monday – Thursday and culminates with an all-day field trip on Friday to celebrate the week’s discoveries.

Expressive Pen (Entering Grades 6th – 12th in the fall)
Tap into your inner author and come enjoy a weekly writing course. This class will empower young writers with fun writing exercises to help get your creative juices flowing. Enjoy drawing more than writing? That’s okay too! Free expression, no judgement. Fee includes writing materials and light snacks.

YOUNG AVENGER CAMP (Ages 4 – 7)
Join forces with Cortlandt Recreation to expand each child’s imagination and help them become the ultimate superhero. Each camper will have the opportunity to create their own super hero persona, and design a costume to go with it. Campers will make crafts that help them fight the battle against evil, and find out their true identity. Trained and experienced staff instructors, Arts, Crafts and games during break times, Awards Ceremony, and sports activities for each day of camp! *Please bring drinks and snacks and wear shoes for outdoor play.

MUSICAL THEATER WORKSHOP (Entering Grades 2nd – 8th in the fall)                   
Robyn Ferracane, Instructor
(Singers and non-singers)
Immerse yourself in the world of theater! This workshop is for everyone from the student acting for the first time, to the seasoned performer. This program takes the student from the audition process to a final performance everyone will enjoy. Not only will this workshop be a source of fun and excitement but also will increase the skill level of every student, whether their goal is to become a professional actor or use the workshop to have fun and develop life skills. Production with costumes, props and minimal sets. All youth will have a role to play, receive a script and will be taught any music they will need to perform for their role. The result will be a wonderful final performance on Friday at 1 p.m. for family and friends. Limited to 25 youth. Click here to see pictures of pervious workshops.
