Youth Babysitting & First Aid/CPR Course this Saturday

The Cortlandt Youth & Recreation Center is offering two important life skill courses this Saturday. Sign your child up today!

 It's not too late; there are still spaces avaliable! Sign your child up for this Saturday's Babysitting or Youth CPR/First Aid Certification Course! Registration must be handed in at the Recreation Office by Friday at 12:00 p.m.

Youth CPR and First Aid Certification (Ages 11 – 15)
WML Aquatics, Instructor
Youth will be trained in adult, child, and infant CPR as well as in First Aid.  All participants will receive American Red Cross Certificates.

Time:              9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Fee:                 $110 with ID / $115 without ID/ $138 non-resident
 

American Red Cross Babysitting, CPR & First Aid course (Ages 11 -15)
WML Aquatics, Instructor
Youth will become fully trained and equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This full day course will cover topics including but not limited to: Pediatric CPR, First Aid, making decisions under pressure, communicating with parents to learn household rules, recognizing safety and hygiene issues, managing young children, confidently feed, diaper and caring for infants. All participants will receive an American Red Cross Babysitting, CPR & First Aid Certification. Please bring a baby-sized doll and a lunch.

“SKETCH-2-MASTERPIECE” DRAWING COMPETITION (Entering Grades 6th – 12th in the fall)
Like to sketch? Do you doodle often and everyone tells you how good you are? Would you like to challenge yourself with other artists? Then sign-up for this creative competition! There will be two rounds, you can participate in one or both. Round 1: “Speed Sketch” 20 minutes. Round 2: “Masterpiece” 1 hour 30 minutes. In each round you can choose from the following categories: Realistic, Cartoon or Pattern. All work will be done on paper in regular pencil (materials provided). Drawing supplies will be awarded as prizes to the top winners in each round.

MONDAY NIGHT FLAG FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
(Entering Grades 6th – 12th in the fall)
Youth are invited to register for a friendly eight-week grid iron tournament with a Monday night football experience. Teams will be decided after registration and prior to play. All participating youth will receive a YC Flag Football T-shirt and winning team will receive a prize.  
Day/Dates:            Mondays, June 26 – August 14 (8 sessions)

                               617-2U; Grades 9th – 12th; 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

SUMMER NITES SOCCER
(Entering Grades 6th – 12th in the fall)
Youth are invited to register for a fleet-footed fun eight-week tournament with a local World Cup feel, at the YC. Teams will be decided after registration and prior to play. All participating youth will receive a YC Soccer T-shirt and winning team will receive a prize.  
Day/Dates:         Wednesday, June 28 – August 16
Course Number/Grades & Times:  
                             623-1U / Grades 6th – 8th; 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
                             623-2U / Grades 9th – 12th; 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Fee:                     $25 with ID / $30 without ID - Registration required by June 2.
 

DRONE RACING AT THE YC (Entering Grades 6th – 12th in the fall)
Come and demonstrate your indoor aerial skills with an obstacle course designed by your YC peers. There will be one course for speed and another for dual racing! Drones will be provided; youth may not bring their own to the race. Participants get to keep their brand new drone!
