Since becoming the Verplanck Schoolhouse Community Center in 1985, this venue has offered Town residents a community meeting room and a second Senior Citizen Center.  With beautiful views of the Hudson River, uninterrupted by train tracks, this former schoolhouse is predominantly used by the Town of Cortlandt Office of Aging.  Located on Sixth Street in Verplanck, the Verplanck Senior Citizen Club meets regularly at this location. Town residents over sixty years of age are eligible for to join the Verplanck Club.  Membership includes special trips, information symposiums and socials.  Health is strongly promoted with blood pressure monitoring every Thursday.  Members of the Verplanck Club can enjoy overnight trips, weekly shopping trips and activity programs with the members of the Cortlandt, Nor-Cort and Crompond Clubs.  For more information regarding Senior Citizen Services in the Town of Cortlandt, please contact the TOWN OF CORTLANDT OFFICE OF AGING.
