The YC is open to youth in Grades 1st - 5th on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and must be accompanied by an adult. 

Every Sunday from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. the Rock Wall is open. Youth must be wearing appropriate clothing, sneakers, and must have a completed Rock Wall Waiver FormClick here to download the form.

In addition there are several programs geared towards this age group.  The following programs are in date order.

Rock Wall Races

Have you been practicing? Whether it’s your first climb or you’re a pro, give it your all as you race to the top of the rock wall. Multiple types of races, resulting in endless fun and prizes awarded to the winners!

Art Explorers (Entering Grades K – 3rd)

Enjoy elbow deep excitement experimenting with artist quality materials & techniques including 3D fun, painting, drawing, paper mache, and collage in an encouraging supportive environment. Your young artist will stretch their imagination & observational skills to develop their own artistic voice while drawing inspiration from famous artists & art from around the world. Creative risk taking was never so much fun!

Valentine's Day Cookie Decorating
Celebrate the holiday of love by decorating special shaped Valentine’s Day Cookies for your loved ones in the YC kitchen.

Home Alone (Grades 5th– 8th)
This program will provide each child with the essentials needed when they are home without adult supervision. Discussion will cover first aid, telephone and door answering, activity plans, encountering emergencies and more!

Musical Theater Workshop (Grades 2nd– 8th)
Attention: Singers and actors! Immerse yourself in the world of theater! This workshop is for everyone from the student acting for the first time, to the seasoned performer. This program takes the students from the audition process to a final performance everyone will enjoy. Not only will this workshop be a source of fun and excitement but it will also increase the skill level of every student; whether their goal is to become a professional actor or use the workshop to have fun and develop life skills. The production is done with some costumes, props and minimal sets. All youth will have a role to play, will receive a script adapted to the students and will be taught the music they need to perform their role. The results will be a wonderful final performance on Friday at 1:00 PM for family and friends. Limited to 25 youth. Many fun roles to play!

Young Rembrants Superhero Cartoon Workshop (Grades 1st– 6th)
Pow! Bang! Wow! Now you can learn to draw your own comic book superhero. We will complete “several drawings while we explore a variety of characters and learn to draw action and movement while we complete the scenes around our superhero's using pencils, markers and Sharpies. Our collection of drawings will be impressive. Sign up today!

Welcome Aboard Luau (For 5th Grade Graduates Only!)

The YC will host a special LUAU themed BBQ for 5th Grade Graduates to welcome them to the YC Family! There will be music, food, contests and prizes. The Luau is for all 5th Grade Graduates from the Hendrick Hudson, Lakeland and Croton Harmon School Districts or are a Cortlandt resident. Pre-registration is required by noon on Thursday, May 3rd. To register call the YC at 914-736-0498. If your child has any allergies or individual concerns please speak with the Director, Katherine when registering.
