Update from Town Supervisor Linda Puglisi, 4/29/20
April 29, 2020- Update from Town Supervisor Linda Puglisi
Today we received further information from Westchester County that the Town of Cortlandt has 580 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19. This is the cumulative number over the last six weeks that we have received from Westchester County. The numbers began to be reported six weeks ago and are still posted on the website and Facebook. The number listed above is for unincorporated Cortlandt and does not include the Villages of Buchanan and Croton-on-Hudson. The unincorporated portion of the Town is everything outside of the Villages of Croton and Buchanan. That equates to 30 square miles and 32,000 people. The number will be updated once we receive additional reports from Westchester County officials. However, Westchester County has advised us that after 14 days the individuals testing positive may have recovered or sadly some have passed away. The Town government is not provided that level of information. Once again, please abide by the Governor's guidelines to stay home and stay safe in order to prevent this virus from spreading. Thank you.
