Juneteenth Message
Release Date: June 18, 2020
We support Governor Andrew Cuomo and Westchester County Executive George Latimer for recognizing the importance of Juneteenth, the day slavery in our Country was officially abolished on June 19, 1865. It will become an annual holiday in New York State, once voted on by the State legislature, stated the Governor this week and he went on to say “It is a day that we all should reflect upon and is especially relevant in this time in history.”
