YC Fall Courses Youth Won't Want to Miss

Parents, the deadline for our cooking and art courses have been extended. Sign-up your child today! Courses range from pre-school - 6th grade.

The Youth Center is offering several fun, interactive and educational courses this Fall for children in pre-school - 6th grade.

CREATIVE COOKING CLASS Shari Munitz, Instructor

Come mix it up and join us for some creative cooking. We’ll make it, bake it, stir it, cut it and lots more “hot stuff” (and cold cooking too!) in this enthusiastic, safe, educational and completely fun kitchen class. We’ll integrate literature, songs, themes, science, math and many other skills while expanding our taste palate and being introduced to some new ingredients and food combinations! Not suggested for chefs with food allergies.

CREATIVE COOKING I (Grades 1 &2)

Day/Dates: Wednesdays, October 3 - November 7 (5 Sessions; no class 10/31)

PRE-K COOKING CLASSES Shari Munitz, Instructor

Come mix it up and be a real chef when you join us for some literacy fun and creative cooking. We’ll make it, bake it, stir it and cook up lots of good times and great food! This is an enthusiastic, safe, educational, entertaining kitchen class. Not suggested for chefs with food allergies. Each week your child will make something different. Each session will teach new material.

FOOD FUN- TWO YEAR OLD PROGRAM (NO KNIVES)

BROADWAY ALL STARS (Grades 1-6) Robyn Ferracane, Instructor

Love to act or sing? This workshop is for everyone from the beginning student to the seasoned performer. Experience the fun of theatrical games, auditioning and having a role in a live production! Taught by a professional actress/director, youth will enjoy nine working classes and two performances of their Holiday production!

ART EXPLORERS (Grades 1st-3rd) Cathy Carabee-Faiella, Instructor

Enjoy elbow deep excitement experimenting with materials & techniques including 3D fun, painting, drawing, papier mache, and collage in an encouraging supportive environment. Your young artist will stretch their imagination & observational skills to develop their own artistic voice while drawing inspiration from famous artists & art from around the world. Creative risk taking was never so much fun! Always new projects!

ART QUEST (Grades 3rd-6th) Cathy Carabee-Faiella, Instructor

Crazy art exercises will help free up that artist in each of us! Acrylic & Watercolor painting, drawing from still life, collage, and more 3D adventures will be covered. Creative risk taking and problem solving is encouraged. Always new projects!

YOUNG REMBRANDTS PRE-K ART (AGES 3 1/2—5)

Young students are so eager to learn and a joy to teach. Young Rembrandts instructors provide a nurturing and strong learning environment that expands Pre-schoolers’ image vocabulary as they draw familiar images such as fish, teddy bears, rainbows and cowboys. We’ll concentrate on the skills of drawing and coloring while we develop fine motor skills, focus, listening, staying on task, patience and spatial organization.
