An important message from Receiver of Taxes, Debra A. Carter

To All Taxpayers,

As a reminder, tax bills were mailed out March 25, 2022, with payment due by April 30th, 2022 without penalty.

There are multiple ways that you can pay

• A secure website for electronic check payments. Simply stated you provide your check routing number and the funds are transferred to the Town’s banking account. www.townofcortlandt.com/tax.

• Credit card payments are also accepted on the tax webpage. Please note there is a third-party fee of 1.8%.

• A Drop Off Box is available and located in front of the court yard.

• We are open Monday-Friday from 8:30- 4:00pm where you can come in person to pay.

• Payment by mail will be accepted. If you mail your payment, be sure there is a timely official United States postmark. Postage meter (i.e. Pitney Bowes) and foreign postmarks are not acceptable. When an envelope contains payment of local taxes with no U.S. postmark date, the payment of such taxes is deemed to have been made on the date the payment is received RPTL §922.
