Towards Abstraction Artist: Rhylee Adviento
The first of this week’s featured artists from the exhibition, Towards Abstraction, on view at Town Hall through August 3rd is Rhylee Adviento. Rhylee, a student artist, offers the viewer an internal portrait. She has chosen to depict a concept rather than a scene or object. Rhylee draws on the language of abstraction and figurative imagery to render the idea of being trapped in one’s thoughts visible.
“I have always loved art. I love making colorful pieces with oil pastels, paint, and graphite. I truly find it interesting that art helps you express yourself without actually having to explain.” – Rhylee Adviento
