Cortlandt Fiber Arts: Judy Ann Simek
Now in its final days, Cortlandt Fiber Arts: A Contemporary Survey explores contemporary trends in fiber-based works. As an artist, Judy Ann Simek works both in fiber and paint to accomplish her works. Informed by her painting practice the quilts displayed in this exhibition feature wholly realized images and scenes, not just the traditional patterning of quilt making.
“Quilting provides an outlet of expression similar to but different from painting. Both arts are special in their own ways and I enjoy both.” – Judy Ann Simek
To view Judy’s works and the works by other the artists stop by Town Hall before Friday and to inquire about Judy’s work, please email: art@townofcortlandt.com .
Cortlandt Fiber Arts: A Contemporary Survey is on view now through Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024.
