Exuberant Joy Artist of the Week: Carter Rexhouse
Now on view, the 2nd Annual Student Exhibition at Town Hall Exuberant Joy celebrates joy in all its forms. There are times when images do not capture the complexity of an idea. The concept of being together is what gives Carter Rexhouse joy. To fully describe its meaning, Carter’s pastel brushstrokes are dense, swirling, overlapping, and never far from each other. A succinct depiction of togetherness.
“Carter is a 10-year-old, 5th grader at Lincoln-Titus Elementary School. While you'll usually find him on a baseball field or a basketball court, he recently started painting to exercise a different part of his brain. This year for Christmas, he made many paintings, all of which were adored by family and friends.”
Exuberant Joy is on view at Town Hall through May 2, 2024. To inquire about this exhibition and other exhibition opportunities, please email Eren Johnson at art@townofcortlandt.com.
