Construction and Traffic Alert: Annsville Circle
The Town of Cortlandt has been advised by the New York State DOT that beginning Monday, July 8, 2024 a major reconstruction of the Annsville Circle will begin. Due to a history of recurrent flooding as well as the fact that the traffic circle is now considered hazardous, the State will begin a two-year renovation of this roundabout. This reconstruction will require the road to be raised 6 feet throughout the entire area. In addition, the circle will be smaller in size and purportedly will minimize the need to merge in and out of traffic. The project is expected to take at least two years. The DOT has reported that the roadway will never close, but obviously delays will occasionally occur and should be anticipated. The businesses on the traffic circle, including the Mobil station and Table 9 will remain open as usual.
