Now in its final weeks at Town Hall, the exhibition Cortlandt Artists Choose Artists explores the influence of an artist’s network on their studio practice. Cortlandt based artists Maxine Young and Arlene Tift are “birds of a feather.” Whether they are collaborating or working individually, their shared love of nature emerges as the common thread binding their works together. The pairing of these works provides a dramatic comparison of process, between the photographic/mechanical and the handmade. The comparison allows the viewer to appreciate how each process affects the final compositions.
