Storm Response
3/7/2018, Storm Response, 9:00 am update:
Town work crews are continuing to clear and open roads and remove debris. Salting operations have begun and it is expected that as the storm intensifies later today, debris removal will be suspended until plowing operations are complete. Con Edison crews continue to remove poles and wires so that Town crews can remove debris. As of 8:00 am this morning, there are 703 customers in Cortlandt without power.
We would like to remind you that there is no parking on Town roads during plowing operations and we urge residents to exercise extreme caution as there may be downed electric wires and debris hidden by snow. Given the anticipated deteriorating road conditions at the peak of today’s storm, we recommend that you do not travel today.
The emergency shelter is open at the Muriel Morabito Community Center at 29 Westbrook Drive. We urge residents to continue to report all downed wires and power outages by contacting Con Edison at 1-800-75CONED. Do not assume that con Edison is aware of your power outage. Please visit the Town website for additional updates. Thank you and be safe.
Paper recycling collection is cancelled for today.
Con Edison has opened a dry ice distribution center at the K-Mart shopping center located at 355 Downing Drive in Yorktown Heights. Hours of operation are 10:30 am to 8:00 pm.
