Memorial Day
Memorial Day
May 28, 2018
Speech by Supervisor Linda D. Puglisi
Today we congregate to remember the brave men and women who proudly and gallantly served our great Country throughout the years and decades through the many wars and battles.
A nation full of patriotism and pride, would soon become convinced of its strength, and also learned lessons about human nature it would never forget. These words were written about WWII but how true these words are today. When “times try our souls”, human kind discovers what we are truly made of:
Courage, Compassion, Dedication, Tenacity and Hope!!
Throughout history our young soldiers, sailors and airmen, guardsmen, men and women valiantly threw themselves into battle never knowing whether they would see another sunrise, willing to die for a cause greater than themselves
We must always preserve and increase our services for our Veterans. And we will continue to fight to keep those services at our V.A. hospital and keep it OPEN.
We will never forget them. We would not have the freedoms we cherish today without their sacrifice. WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, Iraq and all the other battles throughout history to the present. We will always remember and honor their greatness. I am so very proud to be a part of this tribute today and to be a part of a community that comes together on Memorial Day and every day to honor those who have served and are serving our nation.
God Bless them and you
God Bless America!
