TOWN OF CORTLANDT UPDATED INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19

MARCH 17, 2020

  1. The Town of Cortlandt has been working with Westchester County Executive George Latimer, and the Westchester County Department of Health and Department of Emergency Services to plan and prepare for the COVID-19/Coronavirus here in our community. I have declared a State of Emergency in Cortlandt starting effective 3/13/20.
  2. All in person public Town Board, Planning Board, ZBA meetings as well as council and committee meetings will be cancelled immediately for the month of March until further notice.  The Town is continuing to operate under the emergency declaration, and Town Board meetings will be held as needed in the interim with arrangements for teleconferencing/ videoconferencing or webcasting as available.
  3. All programs at the Community Center, which includes the Senior Center activities will be closed and the Youth Center, as well.
  4. All town offices within the Town will be closed to the public effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020.  We are doing this to protect our Town Staff who will be at work, performing necessary/essential functions. We ask all residents to phone or email staff rather than come to Town Hall. All numbers and email addresses are available on our website. If you must bring paperwork to the Town please call the applicable department and they will provide you with information on how to send in the paperwork.  Please be advised that sanitation collection and other operating functions will continue.  In addition, Governor Cuomo has directed all local governments to reduce staff reporting by 50%. The Supervisor and Town Board will be announcing a plan that will include essential staff reporting to Town Hall and will continue to conduct the business of Town government during this time period.
  5.  All payments can be made online. Town Government will be operating but will not have visitors to our offices. If you need assistance please contact the office you need for assistance.
  6.  All Town of Cortlandt Recreation programs are suspended for a period of 30 days. If you are currently registered and enrolled in a Town of Cortlandt Recreation program, you will receive a pro-rated refund or account credit. Registration for spring/summer programs will be accepted online only at www.townofcortlandt.com/reconline .
  7. Nutrition and Meals on Wheels will continue to provide home-delivered meals as scheduled to our seniors from our Center. However, all other Senior Programs are cancelled.
  8. The Town is currently identifying all Town employees that can work remotely and will continue to make business continuity a priority.
  9. The Town continues to be in regular communication with the County, as well as neighboring school districts and other agencies. We will continue to provide updated information as we receive it.
