Cortlandt Celebrates Women’s History Month
We applaud all of the wonderful women who came before us and are grateful for their dedication and devotion to women’s rights.
In August of 2020, we held a very inspiring 100th anniversary of the suffragette movement and Women’s Rights to Vote.
I have had the honor of being only one of the two women Town Supervisors in the 233 year history of the Town of Cortlandt for thirty years. The other was Muriel H. Morabito for four years in the 1970’s. I had the honor of knowing her and we named our Senior Community Center after her before she passed away.
Our tribute this month and always is to our Great Grandmothers, Grandmothers, Mothers, daughters, sisters and to all of the women friends and co-workers we’ve had over the years.
It’s been a journey for women, we’ve come a long way and I can’t wait to see what the younger generation of women will accomplish and contribute.
