Charles J. Cook Pool COVID Restrictions Update
Good Morning Town of Cortlandt Residents,
We are happy to announce that some of our Charles J. Cook Pool COVID restrictions have been lifted!
On weekends we will no longer require residents to make reservations for their pool time, we will be able to increase our capacity to its original limits and remove the two session setup. We will keep the daily fees that are currently in place ($5 per adult, $4 per child, and $2.50 per senior), for those that do not have a Charles J. Cook Pool Season Pass.
On weekdays, the limited COVID capacities and reservations system will still be in place during the morning session (10:45 AM to 3:00 PM), when camp and swim instruction are in session. As per the Westchester County Department of Health, camp and the public must be separated at the pool facility. Camp and swim instruction end on Friday, August 6th, at which time we will be able to lift the morning session restrictions as well.
- Reservations for weekday morning sessions can be made 8 days in advance, meaning, all dates will not be immediately available for reservations.
- Charles J. Cook Pool Lap Lane (Drop In Program via Community Pass) morning sessions reservations can be made in 30 minute increments. Occupancy is limited to one swimmer per lap lane. Lap lane swimmers may remain at the facility for the duration of the morning session.
- The playground and beach side of the pool are closed to the public Monday through Friday, June 28th– Friday August 6th during the morning sessions (10:45 AM- 3:00 PM) due to the Town of Cortlandt Summer Day Camp utilizing the area. The entire facility will re-open to the public at 3:30 PM.
- The Westchester County Health Department mandates, at this time, that diving boards must remain closed and only lap swimming is permitted in the deep end.
During the weekday sessions, we will still require residents to vacate the pool at 3:00 PM, but for the afternoon sessions (3:30 PM- 7:00 PM), residents will no longer be required to make reservations for their pool time, and we will be able to increase our capacity to its original limits.
For all sessions, we will still require that all residents get their own Town of Cortlandt Recreation Photo ID Cards and guests will still not be allowed at this time.
These changes will be implemented beginning on Thursday, July 1st. The Charles J. Cook Pool Gate Check Staff will have a list of those residents that have pre-registered/ pre-paid online for an upcoming afternoon and/ or weekend reservation for Charles J. Cook Pool.
We appreciate your patience and understanding and we are looking forward to a great rest of the summer!
Thank you,
The Town of Cortlandt Recreation Department
