A Message from the Supervisor - Coachlight Square Condominium Fire

Release Date: August 09, 2021

A Message from Supervisor Linda Puglisi

Re: A fire in the Coachlight Square Condominium Complex

(off Kings Ferry Road, Montrose)

On Friday, August 6, 2021 at approximately 9:30 PM a fire was reported to emergency services (911) that a fire was ablaze at one of the condo buildings in Coachlight Square.

I was informed immediately by the Town’s fire inspector, Holly Haight, and then I passed along this very serious situation to our town board members.

All of our immediate and area emergency service providers responded to this fire, including fire departments, EMT’s, police departments, ambulance corps, paramedics, etc. They are all wonderful and do a remarkable job saving lives and property.  We are grateful to them all.  They are HEROES!

I have been in contact with the Coachlight Square Board President and told her our town government will do everything we can to assist her displaced residents and the complex to rebuild.

Special thanks also goes to the American Red Cross who were at the scene to help with relocation of the fire victims (Owners of the 12 condos in that one building).

Our hearts and prayers go out to those individuals and to their families who experienced this terrible fire.  Thankfully, all got out safely and alive without injury.  One firefighter had minor injuries but is doing better, I’ve been told.

The Town Board and I are here to help and pledge to assist these families.  Many have lived at Coachlight Square for many years.
