Alert - Northern Westchester Joint Water Emergency Repairs - August 24, 2022

Release Date: August 24, 2022

Alert from Northern Westchester Joint Water Works – August 24, 2022

The Northern Westchester Joint Water Works will be conducting an emergency shutdown of their 16” transmission main this evening to repair a failed valve located on Montrose Station Road.  In order to perform the required work they need to isolate and dewater the water main between Blue Mountain Preserve and Victoria Avenue.

As a result, Town of Cortlandt residents located on Boulder Lane, Pine Lane (off Lower Washington Street), Travis, White Lion Drive, Marisa Court, Scala Court, Reynolds Hills, Oak and College Hill (located off Montrose Station Road) will experience water supply interruptions (no water) starting at approximately 9:30 PM on this evening (8-24-2022).  Residents in Montrose, Crugers, and Verplanck may experience low water pressure during this time due to water being back fed from Furnace Dock Road.

Montrose Station Road will also be closed to through traffic and will be open for local traffic only. Please contact the Northern Westchester Joint Water Works if there are any questions pertaining to this project at (914) 737-7676.
