What’s Happening in July  at the Youth Center

Summer is in full swing, and there are plenty of fun events coming up at the YC!

Programs for Youth Entering Grades 6^th – 12^th

Tomorrow: Join us for some Outdoor Water Races, a great way to cool off in the summer heat!

Every Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday, join us at the Canteen (Community Center, 29 Westbrook Drive) for some inside basketball. A great way to keep in shape, play the game and stay cool at the same time!

Week of July 9-14

This week features our Dazzling Diva Spa Day on July 10, Watermelon Wednesday and Stretch & Strengthen July 11, a visit from Mister Softee on July 13 and the Cortlandt Ninja Bootcamp on July 14.

Week of July 16-21

We’re celebrating World Emoji Day on the 17^th with games, contests and prizes! We’re firing up the grill on the 18^th for National Hot Dog Day ($3), & working on staying fit with Stretch & Strengthen. DJ Night and Mister Softee on the 20^th and a Snack & Stack Bash on the 21^st.

Week of July 23-28

Dazzling Diva Spa Day returns July 24, Watermelon Wednesday & Stretch & Strengthen returns on July 25. Mister Softee visits July 27 when we’ll also host our popular Friday Night Mic!

Programs for Youth Entering Grades 9^th – 12^th

Every Friday and Saturday Night, join us at the CUE (Cortlandt Upper Entertainment Center, 3131 E. Main Street, Mohegan Lake, behind the Movie Theater) from 7:30 PM - 11:30 PM. A FREE highschool hangout where teens can play on game tables, watch satelite TV and more! (Keep an eye out this summer as the CUE will be getting a makeover!)

Programs for Youth Entering Grades 1^st - 6^th

Calling all Artists: Monday July 9^th begins the first session of our week long Young Rembrandts Art Camp. This session will focus on Cartoon Adventures inspired by the space program as well as the world of Anime! Spaces are still available. Click here to sign-up today!

Programs for Youth Entering Grades 2^nd - 8^th

Theatrical youth won’t want to miss our Musical Theater Workshop August 13-17. This summer’s production of Cinderella Jr. is open for boys and girls, and is a fun introduction into how to a musical is produced. Kids audition, learn lines written specifically for them, choreograph their musical numbers and then stage a performance for parents on their last day.  There are only a few spaces remaining. Programs for Youth Entering Grades 1^st - 5^th

Every Sunday from 1 PM – 5PM the YC is open to youth entering grades 1^st – 5^th with their parents. Families are encouraged to recreate together in our air conditioned facility! A great way to spend some quality time together and beat the summer heat!

Every Sunday from 2 PM – 4 PM our Rock Wall is available for youth to try. A waiver form must be completed and youth must be wearing sneakers. Please note: the Rock Wall may be closed on short notice due to humidity.

Sunday, July 15 celebrate summer with us during our Sunday Sundae Sensation program! Create your own ice-cream sundae masterpiece and then enjoy it!

Need to get in shape this summer? Join us Sunday, August 12 for our Cortlandt Ninja Bootcamp Jr. Challenge!

 

Family Program

Friday, August 17 the YC will be closed because we’ll be Splish-Splashing at the Summer’s End Pool Party at Charles J. Cook Pool! Pre-registration required, call the YC at 914-736-0498.

Drop-in Program for Youth Entering Grades 6^th – 12^th

Monday – Thursday: 1 PM – 10 PM

Friday & Saturday: 1 PM – 11 PM

Family Day for Youth Entering Grades 1^st – 5^th

Sundays: 1 PM – 5 PM

(Youth must be accompanied by an adult at all times)

Closed: Friday, August 17 (August 24 rain date) for our Splish-Splash Summer’s End Pool Party at Cook Pool.
