Now on view at Town Hall the exhibition, Flora & Fauna, is a celebration of the natural world and explores the sublime beauty of nature from the microscopic to the panoramic. Maxine Young’s Seagull in Snow elegantly captures the magic of a snow laden landscape. Blanketed in snow the landscape is rendered alien and frames the seagull and its shadow allowing the viewer to marvel at the delicate tonality in the seagull’s plumage. In any other landscape the subtle variations in plumage would be lost in the noise of color.
