Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes: This position is a competitive class as defined by Civil Service rules and as such all candidates must either currently hold the title of Recreation Leader and be eligible for a transfer within Westchester County Human Resources rules and procedures.  In addition, the successful candidate must be able to meet the requirements of Westchester County Civil Service in order to apply for the Recreation Leader test. Job Duties:

  • Implements the program planned for the Muriel H. Morabito Community Center. 
  • Organizes, promotes, and conducts diversified recreation activities such as games, sports, trips, dance, music, special events, tournaments for senior population.
  • Encourages groups and individuals to participate in offered programs.
  • Organizes groups according to age, interest and ability.
  • Schedules facility activities.
  • Supervises play or club activities.
  • Keeps records of activities and attendance.
  • Keeps records and makes reports as required.
  • Interacts w/ the public in person and by phone.
  • Helps to promote and conduct diversified recreation activities.
  • Assists with the activities of two senior clubs

Must have excellent computer skills and experience with Excel spreadsheets, word processing and Canva. Experience in working with the public. Three (3) years of work experience in recreation.  Town of Cortlandt residents preferred.

Compensation: 

$ $57,515 - $60,544
