2025 MILITARY BANNER PROGRAM
The Town of Cortlandt Military Tribute Banner Program honors our residents’ beloved Veterans, Active-Duty, Reserve, and National Guard members. These beautiful military banners are displayed along Route 9A (near the VA), Broadway in Verplanck, and Oregon Road. We thank all of our brave men and women who have defended our Country and fought for our freedoms in America.
For new Banners:
Banner cost is $175 each and the deadline to order is April 7, 2025.
Display period is from Memorial Day to Veterans Day.
Note: Due to the number of banners displayed, we cannot accept specific pole requests.
Once banners are taken down in November, sponsors will be notified via email when they are available for pick-up. All banners must be picked up at the end of the display period as the Town cannot store for future re-hang.
Re-hanging an Existing Banner:
The cost is $50 for each banner.
Banners that are in acceptable condition (no tears or stains/road grime - see care recommendations below) can be displayed for two additional years at the sponsor’s risk, if space allows. If approved for display, the drop-off is April 28 through May 9, 2025 only. After this date, no re-hangs will be accepted. We cannot make any exceptions due to the banner hanging schedule.
Note: Due to the number of banners displayed, we cannot accept specific pole requests.
Reorder of Previous Banner:
Banners that have previously been purchased, may be re-ordered for a reduced rate of $150. All information from original banner must be the same. Re-orders must be placed through the company website listed below.
Care of your Banner:
Once outdoor banners come down, we recommend cleaning each banner with a solution of water and mild soap. Wipe each side thoroughly and rinse with clean water. Let dry completely. This helps remove a lot of the dirt and pollution that can build up on banners over time. If you wish to store the banners for future use, keeping them rolled (not folded), sleeved and stored vertically in a cool, dry location is best. They will have a natural curve because of being rolled for a long period, but they will straighten out over time once re-hung.
